About Childrens Ministry

We want every child to experience an encounter with God, understand true identity in Jesus, and step into their destiny. It is our goal for God’s love to be manifest in signs, wonders and miracles as well as practical demonstrations of love and affection.

KINGDOM TOTS: 6 weeks old – 5 years olds
Here at Bethel Atlanta you can expect that your child will be affected by the infectious love of God. We strive to create a safe and fun environment for all of our children where they can experience the love of God and have fun playing with their classmates. Mini Bible lessons are incorporated through songs and scripture, and Bible stories. Our goal is to create an environment where our kids get to know the presence of God from the very beginning of their lives.

KINGDOM KIDS: K – 5th grade
Our staff and volunteers are excited to help train your kids to be powerful people who know their identity and are grounded in who God created them to be. Our desire is that each child encounters God through the sharing of testimonies and time spent in His presence. We want to teach our children that the presence of God is their first priority. We encourage them to share testimonies of the things God is doing in them and through them, and empower them to affect the world around them.

Rachel Koontz

Rachel and her husband Kevin have been coming to Bethel Atlanta since they received a prophetic word at a Bill Johnson conference in 2008. They had served many years together in ministry as worship pastors, youth pastors, and even as hosts of a Christian radio show.

Rachel came on as the Director of the Children’s Ministry at Bethel Atlanta in 2016. She is known for her vibrant love for all of God’s children, big and small, as well as her endless supply of encouraging words and genuine kindness.

Rachel and Kevin live in Peachtree City with their four children: Victoria, Mia, Ava, and Quin. Rachel loves all things family, music, American history, and writing.

Michayla Best

Michayla and her husband, Carsten, started going to Bethel Atlanta from the first Sunday in the ABC building and it felt like home from the start. Michayla is Australian and Carsten is German. They met on a ship, serving with OM International, and moving to the States to be part of a traveling worship ministry with OM USA after they married.  They have twin girls, who are their miracle babies, after battling years of infertility.

Michayla’s role is Kingdom Kids Support, as well as running Bethel Equip Kids. She uses her love of crafts and curriculum to assist in putting together lessons, as well as her gift of administration to help things to run smoothly. Michayla enjoys music, playing piano, reading, research, writing curriculum, and fun stories and songs. She is passionate about speaking truth to children, helping them find their identity, especially those with learning issues – because a label does not define them.

June Ann Pyron

June Ann is a native of Atlanta, GA. She is a lover of the mountains, lakes, and all things travel. June Ann has been a part of Bethel Atlanta for 5 years and serving in Children’s ministry for 2 years.

As Kingdom Tots Coordinator, June Ann facilitates communication and scheduling with the Kingdom Tots Overseers, Teachers and Volunteer base. June Ann oversees general upkeep, setup and breakdown of the kingdom tots area on a weekly basis. One of her greatest joys is connection with people, whether they are the families that attend Bethel Atlanta or the weekly tots staff.

June Ann values the pursuit of joy and wisdom in all aspects of her life. She loves visual and performing arts and at-risk and foster youth. June Ann is a big fan of games, puzzles and competitions; with an emphasis on football, baseball and recreational kickball.

Justin and Lydia Uhland

Justin and Lydia met in high school and have been married for 17 years. Their journey with the Lord truly began as they began their relationship, even though they were both saved as kids. When they had children, they knew we wanted something more for their family and this deep hunger eventually led them here to Bethel Atlanta. They have been a part of Bethel Atlanta for 3 years and both Justin and Lydia gone through BASSM as students.

Justin and Lydia are Kingdom Kids team leaders. They love serving in this area and are blown away by the children’s abilities to receive and give away all that they are learning. They love to help teach this generation the things we ourselves have been learning and growing in as adults. It’s a beautiful thing to be a part of and they are grateful to pour into these amazing kids!

Heather Ross

Heather was raised in Georgia and is married to Curtis Ross. They have two children, Hailey and Camden. Heather co-authored A Wife’s Superpower and has been a part of the Bethel Atlanta community since 2014.

Heather is a foodie and loves great dining experiences. Family is of utmost importance to her and creating memories with them is a highlight of her life. Heather loves Jesus and spending time worshipping. She’s passionate about making a positive impact in people’s lives and seeing them grow and develop.

Heather is an overseer for Kingdom Tots, because she believes in giving back where her children are being ministered and poured into. She loves working with this great team and seeing these beautiful little people grow in the knowledge of God.

Josh and Marina Hill

Josh and Marina married in 2003 after graduating from Elim Bible Institute in upstate New York. They have two amazing daughters, Joscelyn and Elliana. Through these two treasures, they have become fully convinced that children are a “love gift” from Father God. The Hills love each other deeply and enjoy spending time together as a family.

In the spring of 2012, the Hills moved to Atlanta to be a part of the Bethel Atlanta family. They specifically wanted to be immersed in a kingdom culture and raise their family in an environment that was pursuing a love relationship with Jesus and a supernatural lifestyle.

Josh and Marina currently serve as team leaders in Kingdom Kids. They find it such an honor and a joy to be serving your children and being witnesses of their precious hearts being captivated by Jesus. They love to participate in seeing them encounter Jesus, realize how much He loves them and to see them walk in agreement with what He thinks of them. The Hills also serve as Sozo hosts for Bethel Health and enjoy bringing people into encounters with Jesus and receiving freedom.
